This is the type of compressor we recommend for a portable target system consisting of up to eight targets. This type of compressor is available from several manufacturers (this one happens to be Sears) and it will have an electric motor of about 1.5 HP and an air tank of about 4 gallons capacity. The outlet pressure of the compressor should be set from 45 to 55 pounds per square inch for use with the target system.
A medium sized compressor will be required for targets systems having from 8 to 20 targets. This compressor will have an electric motor of about 2 HP with a 30 or 40 gallon air tank. A larger target system will need a full-sized compressor.
You will find that the range compressor will have many uses from inflating bad tires on cruisers to cleaning guns. If in doubt buy the next size up. Since compressors are awkward and expensive to ship, and they are readily available in most localities, we suggest you purchase your compressor locally and save money. We will, of course, be pleased to supply the compressor should you so wish.
