Durability, Stability, Flexibility
Our Standard Duty Turning Target Unit consists of a heavy metal base with an incredibly strong, injection molded plastic, rotating target support frame. The long legs and heavy construction of this metal target base provide stability even on unprepared surfaces and under windy conditions. The rotating frame on the standard duty target unit accepts standard 1"x2" wooden target supports spaced to fit IPSC type targets. With use of a cardboard backing board the frame can be easily modified to accept a wide range of paper targets. |
Advantages of the Standard Duty Frame
The rotating frame assembly is computer designed and stress-tested to ensure strength and durability. If the rotating frame is accidentally damaged it is economical to replace at only about 25% of the cost of a metal frame. Additionally, since the turning target unit is designed for quick disassembly, replacing a damaged rotating frame takes only a couple minutes. Shooters will have very little range "down time" in the event of damage.
Injected plastic construction and nylon bearings make the rotating frame assembly totally weather resistant and require zero routine maintenance. This lightweight but tough material reduces the air pressure needed to turn the rotating frame, permitting the use of a smaller and less expensive compressor and increasing system portability. The target unit base uses an enclosed air module box with a built-in air filter that protects the pneumatic system components from dust, water and UV radiation. Two spring clips permit the air module to be replaced in just one minute should it be damaged.

Portability and Safety
By removing one pin at the target frame end of the air module the vertical shaft and the rotating frame assembly can be removed greatly aiding portability. The metal bases can then be neatly stacked (see left) for storage or transportation.
The plastic rotating frame is less likely than metal frames to produce ricochets if accidentally hit. A bullet striking the frame tends to either produce a hole in the frame or to break off a piece of the frame, depending on bullet caliber and velocity. This important safety feature can also reduce your exposure to liability and possible complaints from neighbors since a bullet hitting the frame will tend to continue on its course into the range backstop. |
| We also carry compact portable turning target frames. |
